Thanksgiving Gathering

We'll be getting together at 208 N. Gospel on Thanksgiving Day. We'll plan to eat sometime in the early afternoon, but come any time! Tutu is making her usual dishes - the turkey, dressing, pork loin, and pies. I'm doing the chicken and dumplings, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and pecan pies. Any and all other dishes are welcome! Looking forward to seeing everyone then!

rake & run

The Rileys spent the day raking leaves. First, we tackled our own yard. Then, we joined the junior highers from church and raked multiple blocks of yards in Plainfield! Wish we could have headed down to B-ton to rake the Holland Drive house, but I hear Daddy Dave took care of it today anyway!

Meet Ava

Ava, a Jack Russell/rat terrier mix left her Amish farm to join our family. She's a precious little pup with a sweet and playful personality. Unfortunately, Henry has been anything but sweet and playful with her! They do best together when they are outside; he seems to be overly protective of David inside! She cuddled all night with Megan who took her outside at about 1:30 and slept all night until I took her out at 7:00 this morning. No accidents so far! If she's anything like Henry was, she'll be housebroken in about a week! She's already met many family members - Hannah, Tutu, Carrie, Joe, Emily, Katie, Kyle, and Grandma and Papa and she did just fine. Maybe coming from an Amish family prepared her for a big family!
