Dinner Anyone?

Would any of you Indy folks (or anyone else, for that matter) be interested in coming downtown for dinner on Wednesday or Thursday? I just thought I'd put the invitation out there...I have to be in town for a Dept. of Ed. workshop at the Conrad. I'm going by myself and we're on our own after 4:30 each day. I'd love to have some company, if anyone is free. I'll even share my small stipend on the cost of dinner!

A Chicago Update

It's week four here at the UofC; midterms begin next week. Things were pretty hectic for awhile, what with finalizing schedules, soccer practice, internship stuff and whatnot. This past Friday we had the Harris School Follies, which has been a huge relief to my schedule. Every year, a group of students gets together and writes a comedy sketch about life at the Harris School and then performs it as a fundraiser for Women in Public Policy (the money goes to a fund to provide "scholarships" for attending conferences). I wrote and "starred" in a few of the skits and for the last few weeks have been at rehearsal nearly every evening. Below are some photos and a clip from the sketch I helped write (with friends Meredith and Leslie) from one of our rehearsals. Our Math Camp professor, John Boller, played himself. Once we get the tape from the actual show, I'll try to post it up here.

I played the part of Ellen Cohen, our Dean of Students. Hence, this awesome wig:

The rest of the folks in this photo are Antonio, Erin, Christine, John Boller and Meredith. You might recognize them from the video above.

Otherwise, school is pretty good. I must have learned something last quarter, as I actually almost feel like I know what I'm doing now. And thankfully, I even have a few papers to write -- my life is not quite so math-centric as it was for a few months there. Whew.

Greg turns 21!

I can not believe you are having your 21st birthday. Pops and I went to Bloomington on a Sunday to stay with Hannah while your Mom went to the hospital. We had to return to Paoli and Granny came up to take care of all of you. There was a cold spell and the water pipes froze and burst in the laundry. It so happened all the clothes to be washed were under the pipes. What a mess! Mort came to the rescue and Granny went on cooking, washing, and taken care of the family..Have a safe 21st.

Another Birthday Celebration!

Greg celebrates 21 with a big steak at Zagrebs....and drank sprite!

Birthday Wishes

I'll admit it...I'm not the best aunt around for remembering birthdays, but isn't this Greg's special day? Happy 21st ! I tried to find a birthday picture from years gone by, but this was the best I could do - Christmas 1989. Aren't they all cute?

Template Change

I hope no one minds that I decided to change the template....I needed a new color/style....the same way I feel about my hair right now...

FYI: Katie and Emily have been so inspired by the family blog that they each have started their own blogs: http://emchat.blogspot.com and http://katiekinz.blogspot.com - I am sure Katie will update her blog daily (actually multiple times during the day); Emily may never touch it again!

Have a great Tuesday!

Even More Cheerleading Pics...

Megan just received the pictures from her stunt group competition in Indy. The Tumble Time All-Stars did pretty well for their first time. This Friday they will perform in exhibition at the Paoli-Springs Valley game.

A Perfect work of art...

You are my sunshine...
Pops loves it! Way to go, Emily!

The artist at work...

Emily sawed the legs 2", sanded it all down
and gave it a neutral base coat.
Now, the artistic-genius is creating
the perfect design for the small table ...
.. to hold Pop's drink and remote...
tune in tomorrow for the finished creation!

Happy Birthday, Grandson!!

I remember well that cold January day you decided to come into this world. I thought for sure you were going to be born at home because your Mom would not go to the hospital until your Dad got home from Greenfield. I would go out to my car and warm it up so we would have a fast get away. You did wait until Mort got home and then Laura and I followed later to see you. I wonder how I ever found the hospital and returned to Rosedale in the dark!
