Homecoming
Kelli & Jenna both had a good time. Kelli's group had a little excitement at dinner (Bravos). One of the couples car was the target of a smash & dash. Jenna's had a group meal at her friends house.

Celebrating Hannah!
Everyone enjoyed a wonderful meal at Sweet Grass in Bloomington. Yummy fried green tomatoes, shrimp po' boys, roasted chicken and pork with mashed potatoes, and shrimp and salmon on a grit cake! Quite the southern treat!

Cleveland Road Trip
Just wanted to let everyone know we're back from our unexpected trip to the Cleveland Clinic with what looks to be an accurate diagnosis (and a daughter who can go out in public again!). When David called yesterday morning about the possibility of seeing a dermatologist, we didn't expect to be leaving later the same day. They reassured us that, yes, she did need to be extra careful when it came to infection and that we had done the right thing. After seeing two different doctors in Orleans and Bloomington and trying four different medications with no relief AND the infection/condition/whatever spreading, we knew she needed help.
She saw a dermatologist and an assisting resident who spent a great deal of time asking questions and, as always there, we really felt like they cared about her and her condition. They felt that it was more of an allergic reaction (at this point, not able to identify what the cause was) and are treating it with two topical creams. Lisa, I knew you would ask, so here they are - Triamcinolone Acetonide and Mupirocin. She has already seen a tremendous improvement! I'm so glad we went!

Update
I'll try this again. Sorry, I must have hit the wrong key.
Eric is actually having fun at Camp Pendleton. They are training as riflemen,which means they get to shoot guns ALOT. They have been in the field the last week (M-F) and learning to use the scopes, night vision goggles, etc. Eric kind of likes that. So far. He has been off the last 2 weekends & with the Labor Day holiday, he was off 4 days. So basically, he has been off almost as much as he has been there. He's actually had 7-8 days of training and 6 days off. The only bad thing about being off is sometimes they have to go back for an hour or two for guard duty or firewatch. This past weekend, he and 2 of his friends, met Jill in San Diego. He had to go back to base on Sunday night for firewatch from 0100-0200. He said it took him 2 hours to get back to base on the bus. And of course, he went back to San Diego when he was done. He can receive mail and packages now. The only caution is if you send food, he has to eat it all then (or share it). The Instructors don't want any ants visiting.

He graduates from the School of Infantry on Nov 2. This ceremony is very low key and most families don't go. Immediately after the ceremony, they have to go to the school of whatever they will be doing. In Eric's case, that is the Security Forces School in Virginia.
He still says he wants to go to OCS but does not know who to talk to and when to mention it. I'm sure he'll figure it out. He was hoping he could change his enlistment from 5 years to 4 if he goes to OCS, but I have been hearing that almost all Marine Corps is 5 years.
I don't know when his next leave is or when we will see him again. I think a road trip to Virginia is in the near future.

labor day
On Friday Night, Fishers football played Westfield.
The whole family went over watch Hunter and our Tigers.
Saturday I went to Auburn to watch this gigantic classic car auction and antique show. It was essentially a garage sale that stretched a mile across. I am sitting in a '66 AC Cobra that has been repainted.
This was just one of many purchases yesterday. There was everything from reagan campaign buttons, pocket knives, hand made soap, stuffed ferrets, and projectors. All of these subs and speakers were just thirty bucks.
At the auction, one of the batmobiles were sold for 105,000 dollars. This Japanese man flew all the way to Auburn just to bid on the "Gotham City Cruiser" and add it to his fleet.
Ceramics II is my favorite part of the day. I made "Bertha" last friday.
