New Address!

Been quiet around these parts. Good thing I'm moving and need to update everyone on where to find me! My new place is at

My new landlord, Jerry, is a hoot. He grew up in the neighborhood (Bridgeport, not Brightwood or whatever you thought it was, Mom) "with Richie Daley", but moved to the west side with his wife a few years ago. He still goes to mass at St. Mary of Perpetual Help, though, and helps take care of the dog at Emil's on the weekends. (That's where I met him. Just walking by one Sunday.)

He's a former cop, and "still knows a lotta guys pretty high up on the force" if I run into any trouble. They'll take care of it for me. He also drives a corvette and used to be a big hot rodder. I've only spent about two hours with him, but have at least a dinner's worth of stories already. Since he hopes he dies before I move out, hopefully I'll collect a lot more.

I have a sort of second bedroom, so come visit! Maybe I'll even talk Jerry into stopping by if you do.

Arrived in Dhaka, it has a lot to live up to

We arrived in Dhaka, Bangladesh today. We were welcomed to the hotel with flowers and a whole committee -- it was pretty surreal.

My Internet access might be a bit better here, but if our last week is any indication, I'll be too busy to use it much.

Nepal was absolutely wonderful. We were treated so well and had the best guide. My traveling companions are pretty great, too, thankfully.

Crazy to think I'll be home in a week!

Hi, fam!

Not much internet access here in Kathmandu, but I wanted to quickly say we've arrived safe and sound. I can't wait to tell you all more about it; this morning we met with the deputy prime minister; now we're getting ready to head out for lunch and a visit to the Monkey Temple later this afternoon. I basically haven't slept since Friday so things are a bit blurry, but, it's awesome.
