4/24

Mom and Dad at Circle Center. We went to the Riverdance Show
on Saturday afternoon. They had all kinds of Celtic dances and music
I had never seen before. It was awesome to watch!

It's kind of hard to see what's going on, but I wanted to show
off these killer windows all over the Stutz Building. On
Friday night, i went to this giant art show downtown with my
friend Evan and his family. The building was previously an
automobile factory (in the 20's) that has been converted
into individual artist studios/apartments. Once a year,
the building is opened up to the public. (to look at vintage cars,
talk to the artists about their work, and walk through their studios)
It was fun to be surrounded by so many creative people.

A most amazing day...

This is Bob Casebeer that I accompanied to DC yesterday as a part of the Hoosier Honor Flight. Mr. Casebeer flew during WWII as a gunner and radio operator on B-24s in over 30 missions in Europe.
A two star general and Chief from Andrews AF Base met us at on the airplane at BWI in Baltimore. They were so gracious and kind and spent a long time with the WWII veterans shaking hands and thanking them.
(They signed my hat, too, which was cool).
Senator Dole met us at the WWII Memorial and spent
a long time talking to the Vets, including Mr. Casebeer, pictured here.
We took 112 vets (110 WWII, 1 Korean, 1 Vietnam) on a Boeing 737, chartered from Bloomington Airport. It was an 18 hour day and I know they had to be tired
but they were so grateful to see their Memorial.

This is Mr. Merrell on the plane ride back. He was career Air (bomber and transport plane) pilot. He, like so many of the men, had so many wonderful stories and all said the Memorial brought back so many memories of the missions --and friends and brothers that were left behind. What an amazing day!!

Race for the Cure

Here we are before the big walk-Ray, Becky, Mort, me, Jill, and Eric. Eric is wearing a weighted vest, I wish I had the same excuse. Mort wore his fly-fishing vest because of all the pockets-I think we all should get one.
Becky is 10 years cancer free!!!

Easter treats

Easter

Beautiful day for a walk

Kyle parked his bike. This is NOT a bike rack, it is a fence.
Joe ruined Kyle's winning streak at "Don't Break the Ice".
For a guy who can ride 25 miles at a time, the 2.5 mile walk wore him out.

Easter in the North

Lots of great food and the requisite ham loaf. Then a long (2.5 miles) walk through the neighborhood park.

Joe measured the distance so we wouldn't overtax ourselves and maybe go 3 miles instead. He also claimed it was a good substitute for walking a dog.

It Wouldn't be a Foster Family Gathering without...

Of course we finished the whole bowl!

Before that...

Our choir performed the cantata Amazing Love

We almost filled a whole pew...Angela, Bret, Greg, Tutu, Mitch,
Megan, Evan, and David were in attendance

My Famous Friend!

Hi, family!

My friend Leslie entered (accidentally -- it's a long story) a stand-up comedy contest the other night and managed to advance to the next round! Now the video is posted online and the winners are decided by the votes of viewers like you! I highly encourage you to check it out because she's pretty funny.

Love,
Laura

We had a fun day at St. Pete, which included lunch at The Hurricane. The Alligator Picture was posted for Kyle. We saw it after Sheri and I went hiking with J.B. and Barb.
