Happy Easter!
Remember the days of Easter egg hunts on Sandy Hook Road? I don't have all families represented, but this was the best I could do on a busy morning. Wishing everyone a blessed Sunday!

I know you must be sick of hearing from me...
Hello hello!
Well I've finally come upon a decent amount of free time this evening and thought it'd be a good time to drop a few lines on everything that has been and will be going on soon (though I'm sure someone around here would 'recommend' I get back to cleaning my room for inspection tomorrow). Anyways, we spent the first two and a half weeks of March out in the field doing various things. Most of the time we were just doing work in order to test out other units to see if they were either ready to deploy, or in one case to see if they would graduate (like a final exam). So even though it wasn't just our platoon going out and doing things for ourselves, we did get in some good training and had more than enough days spent in the mud. Since we've been back, it's been lots of paperwork and providing what seems like the same information over and over again on form after form with lots of 'standing-by' in between. Luckily, the weather is getting nicer and we've had many days in the 70s lately already. Jill was out last weekend and it was the best weather I've seen in ages. We spent most of our time outside but opted not to attend the Megadeth concert that was in town since we didn't want to make Tutu jealous.
The weather change is just in time, too, as since you may know I'll be heading to Cuba for a few months soon. At least now seeing the sun shining there won't take me by surprise, and maybe I'll even break a sweat once or twice before I go which will help with the acclimatization. But who cares, I get to spend a chunk of time in the Caribbean, and I doubt I'd ever complain about that. However, I'm sure I'll be ready to come home when the time comes in July. Once back, I'm looking to head back home ASAP and spend some quality time there, maybe even catch a Cubs game at Wrigley if it works out, too. Hopefully it will last longer than my usual weekend visit.
Anyways, I don't want to get into a lot of boring details, and sadly I don't have any exciting pictures to show you unless you like looking at what's probably more closely related to a condemned dorm room than anything else, so I'll have to take my exit cue now. Thanks for reading, and I hope you're all doing fantastic! I'll be sure to write more as things develop!
